Fiddle Ensemble 2011 performing at the Middle New Hampshire Arts and
Entertainment Center at the Franklin Opera House, Franklin, NH

Join Us for the 2012 Ensemble! Rehearsals Start Soon!

We had another great year with the Fiddle Ensemble in 2011. We increased in size by 1.5 times and had a wonderful debut of some waltzes written by Jan. The video of the concert sounded exceptional and we really wowed the audience once again. The ensemble is open to all acoustic instruments and all levels--vocalists are welcome too. We will work on fiddle tunes and sung songs of many styles: American; Irish; Scottish; Swing, Klezmer, Folk and Bluegrass.

Coming Soon! Preview Rehearsals
This year, there will be two preview rehearsals, one in Franklin (Nov. 20) and another in Exeter (Dec. 1) for those of you who want to start working on the music early. These rehearsals are not required but they will allow you to get a copy of the music and the accompanying CD's. Remember, you do not need to know how to read music as all music is provided for you on CD both up to speed and slowed down. A deposit of $50 will be applied towards the final registration fee. You may also just come to sit in and decide if this is for you. If you cannot make the preview rehearsals, you may send a check for $53 (deposit and mailing fee) to have the music mailed to you.

New This Year
We will all participate in the main portion of the program and be expected to learn about 12 tunes/songs. This year, there will also be advanced music and beginner music available. You choose the music you want to perform based on your ability. You can perform on it all if you choose.

Calling All Kids!

If there is enough interest, a Kid's Group for children under 13 will be considered. This group would meet four times for 1.5 hours each and also include two partial dress rehearsals (for a total of 6 rehearsals) plus the concert in Franklin for $90.

Rehearsals, Dress Rehearsals, Final Performance
Rehearsals will be held on the dates shown below in Franklin, Sandwich and Exeter. We will all rehearse together in two dress rehearsals in Franklin on March 25 and April 1 and the final performance will be on Sunday, April 15.

More Performances

We will also have optional performances on Saturday, March 31 in Goffstown and another in Exeter on a date TBD. We're also considering another optional performance in Sandwich.

To sign up or for more information please give me a call or e-mail me (603) 661-1981, fiddleheads_nh@yahoo.com

Keep on playing music--get your friends to learn, get together and jam with people--it can keep you happy and healthy.

The purpose of the orchestra is to provide a place for musicians to learn all the basics of performing and musicianship, both in the traditional manner (learning by ear) and using sheet music. The graduated parts allow musicians of various ability levels to play together in harmony.
